Types of Artificial
Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science
dedicated to creating systems capable of performing
tasks that typically require human intelligence. These tasks
include reasoning, learning, problem-solving, perception, and
decision-making. AI systems process vast datasets to identify
patterns and act on them, often automating complex or
routine tasks

A.I
Public
(Commercial
AI)
Private AI Local AI
Free or Paid Online Service
(Eg. Chatgpt, Deepseek,
Claude, Gemini, Grok)
Installed on Networked
Computers or Servers (Eg.
Neuros Private AI), Customized
to Network Needs
Installed on Powerful Desktop
Computers, Customized to
User’s Needs

Public A.I
1. Input your query (called
Prompts) into the chatbox
2. AI will process the input
information and performs
analysis tasks (thinking)
3. AI will output the solution or
desired results of your
prompts for the task
4. AI output depends on
publicly available
information on the Internet,
require Internet Access to
Work

Public A.I
1. Input your query (called
Prompts) into the chatbox
2. AI will process the input
information and performs
analysis tasks (thinking)
3. AI will output the solution or
desired results of your
prompts for the task
https://gemini.google.com/app
Private A.I
1. Input your query (called Prompts)
into the chatbox of the Ollama
App
2. AI installed on the Server will
process the input information and
performs analysis tasks (thinking)
3. AI will output the solution or
desired results of your prompts
for the task
4. AI will retain all information that
you privately trained it with, with
possibility to update with public
information without leaking
information online.
5. AI can be accessed without
internet access to commercial
servers (offline)
Local A.I
1. Input your query (called
Prompts) into the chatbox of
the Ollama App on User PC
2. AI will process the input
information and performs
analysis tasks (thinking)
3. AI will output the solution or
desired results of your
prompts for the task
4. Method of output is the same
as Private (Network) AI

Advantages/Disadvantages of the Types of A.I
Type Advantages Disadvantages
Public AI
• Free to Use or Low subscription Cost
• No hardware needed (any computer or smartphone
can access the AI over the Internet)
• Fast Output (Commercial Data Centre)
• No need to train the AI
• AI Company can access and sell your private data, and all
your prompts made to the chatbox (password, username,
credit card number, etc)
• Safety issue. Password storage on local PC can be
accessible by hackers
• Require external Internet Access to work
Private AI
• All prompts and AI output is private, cannot be
accessed by AI companies & third parties
• Suitable to process confidential company data and
secret product data and information, access to
company staff only
• Does not require external internet access to work
• Training of A.I is required to suit the company’s
knowledge base and competencies
• Before training the AI model, the output generation is
slower than Public AI
• Expensive (hardware investment in server PC is required)
Local AI
• All prompts and AI output is private, cannot be
accessed by AI companies and other computers on
company network
• Suitable for specialized use (eg. CAD design, movie
production, 3D model generation)
• Does not require external internet access to work
• Training of A.I is required to suit the user’s requirements
• Before training the AI model, the output generation is
slower than Public AI
• Very Expensive (hardware investment in powerful high
end graphics PC is required)
Training AI Models
(Private AI and
Local AI)
• When using Ollama, always select the Medium
Thinking mode to maximize the CPU usage with more
reliable accuracy
• Neuros Private AI uses the following models: (gpt-
oss:20b), (qwen3-vl:4b) and (gemma3:4b)
• When prompting the AI, test its knowledge by asking
it basic questions first, then increase the complexity
and difficulty of the query task. (for example, to find
out about how Aeration System in wastewater plant
works, you need to prompt the AI to list out all the
plants in Singapore first, then filter the result by type
of aeration blower, then by manufacturer, etc)
• Subsequent prompt on the same or related subject
will result in faster output and response from the AI
• ALWAYS CHECK the OUTPUT! AI Can make mistakes
by using outdated assumptions or outdated
information. So check every step of the information
output by the AI for accuracy

Training AI Models
(Private AI and
Local AI)
• The AI will learn the CONTEXT of the information
your frequently requested.
• The more prompts and corrections you made into
the AI, the faster it learns and the higher the
accuracy of its output on the subject or context
